Sports Nutritionist
As well as having a life long passion for food and cooking, I’ve also been interested in science and how things work. I studied Applied Biology for 4 years at Bath University and even did 2 six month placements in laboratories.
I think it was these experiences which turned me off pursuing science as a career as I could not see myself working in a lab for the rest of my life. I used my degree loosly for a number of years whilst working in the Medical and Hospital sales fields, so it did come in a little bit useful.
Recently my degree has come in very useful as I studied and passed the CISSN the Sports Nutrition certificate from the International Society of Sports Nutrition. In order to take the exam you have to have a 4 year degree in a Science related subject. So I wouldn’t have even got on the starting line if I had not have had the 4 years at Bath.
Having met Matt Lovell the England Rugby Nutritionist a few years ago in my role as an internet marketing and search engine specialist I became increasingly interested in sports nutrition, more from a selfish stand point in helping me to improve my indoor rowing times as old father time marched on.
Now as a father of a 6 year old son and more aware of the obesity problems that are going on in the world I’m passionate about teaching the basics of food so that everyone is able to eat well and have the body shape they desire.
